Joanne Williams Principal Associate
Joanne earns her respected place in the communications field by designing innovative programs and developing cutting-edge strategies. Her inter-disciplinary approach has served a diverse client base representing the corporate, public, and nonprofit sectors. Since forming Barrington Associates in 1991, Joanne has successfully managed the multifaceted communications capaigns for dozens of clients, and developed a unique, custom-tailored presentation skills practice for foreign and domestic corporate leaders, political candidates, and organization heads seeking to reach and have an impact upon their audiences. In addition, she launched Barrington’s Caribbean and African Affairs Practice to help companies identify new markets throughout the Diaspora. Most recently, Barrington bridged a relationship with a technology-based company reliably able to map a targeted audience response to products, issues or services. Together with the firm’s communications and marketing expertise, Barrington’s clients are now better prepared to meet their business targets and organizational goals.
TaRessa Stovall Senior Associate
TaRessa's expertise blends strategic organizational communications with successful blog writing/editing and management and award-winning print and broadcast journalism—all with a focus on diversity and inclusion. She increased awareness of Spelman College and strategically positioned its first Black woman President, Johnnetta B. Cole, as a multi-faceted leader, expert and role model; successfully designed and implemented the Black Community Crusade for Children Public Awareness Campaign for the Children’s Defense Fund; and improved message development and impact for U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Louis W. Sullivan. TaRessa has a strong reputation as a public speaking, media presentation and crisis communications consultant, and is the author and/or editor of several books.
Mark Lassiter Senior Creative Associate
Mark has worked within the structure of an advertising agency and as an entrepreneur for over two decades. His most notable job responsibilities have been as Creative Director for VisionsUSA and Marketing Consultant for the National Basketball Association, Atlanta Hawks franchise, and The National Black Arts Festival. All three assignments brought national recognition and changed the way these companies built their respective brands. Through the years, Mark has built compelling campaigns to attract consumers of products and services through innovative approaches. He is a person who believes it is more important to “out think” the competition than it is to out-spend them. Mark is a graduate of Howard University, Cornell University and was a Rockefeller Foundation Fellow at Walker Art Center.
Lisa Bass Cooper Senior Digital Marketing Associate
Lisa brings a passion for forward-looking digital and content marketing strategies to execute social causes and program initiatives. With experience managing award-winning strategic community outreach campaigns and social media-driven new product launches, Lisa focuses on deliverables essential for success. Her background in journalism, video production, advertising, public relations and social media mesh with a keen understanding of project management and business administration. Lisa has worked on projects within agencies and as a consultant for clients in the education, finance, health care and media/entertainment sectors. A strong advocate of metrics-driven strategic communications, she earned a bachelor of science degree in journalism from Northwestern University and a master of fine arts in film at Howard University.
